During my studies in design, through learning technical plans and color harmonies, we were taught a fascinating subject: the history of styles in interior design.
Here are some rules and inspirations to recreate a minimalist bedroom at home, which will embody simplicity and purity.
The 8 rules of minimalist style
A minimum of colors
You probably suspect the most “minimalist” color: white, synonymous with cleanliness and softness. It can be harmonized with black or colors inspired by nature, such as earthy tones.
In contrast to several other common decor styles, here we drop the garish colors to make room for lightness.
Sobriety in the grounds
It is nice to be in a clean and calm environment: the absence of patterns and solid colors are the key to success!
Only the materials and textures must be highlighted in this type of decor in order to find the fullness of minimalism.
Design Minimalist furniture
Furniture from the minimalist style must above all be sleek and elegant at the same time. A very low bed or on the floor, simple bedside tables and an armchair with designer lines are sufficient.
Prioritize wood, bedding made from natural materials and above all, push back white walls with integrated storage!
The worst mistake you can make in a minimalist decor is unnecessarily cluttering the room with unnecessary objects, furniture and decorations, because disorder brings distraction. Remember: less is better.
Clean and practical decorations
Decorative items in a minimalist room should accentuate the effect, while providing a practical function. Like these magnificent wooden hooks, this throw of wool, this floor lamp with simple lines and this designer bedside table.
It is also good to integrate some plants, which will give a nice touch of color to the room, while remaining in the natural spirit of the minimalist style.
